GORO INVESTS €25 MILLION IN SNOWMAKING SYSTEM FROM A GLOBAL INDUSTRY LEADER

22.05.2026

GORO Development’s GORO Mountain Resort has signed a contract with DEMACLENKO — one of the world’s leading companies in artificial snowmaking technologies, working with some of Europe’s top ski resorts, including Kitzbühel, Stubai Glacier, Zermatt, St. Moritz, and the ski areas of Val Gardena, among many others.

The company will develop an automated snowmaking system for the resort, which will become a key part of GORO’s winter infrastructure. The system is designed to cover 100% of the slopes in the first development phase and ensure more than 100 days of ski season operations. This marks an important step toward a more predictable resort operation, a more stable tourist flow, and long-term growth in asset value.

ONE OF THE LARGEST CONTRACTS IN THE COMPANY’S HISTORY

According to the President and CEO of DEMACLENKO, GORO Mountain Resort represents one of the largest contracts in the company’s history. For Ukraine, this signals a new level of mountain infrastructure development.

For investors, it confirms the project’s consistent ambition to become an international-level resort — both in scale and in the quality of its technological solutions.

The contract itself goes far beyond “snow cannons.” It covers a complete engineering system operating beneath the slopes and designed to ensure the stability of the winter season. This includes pumping stations, water cooling systems, pipelines, connection points, automated controls, and real-time monitoring. The system is not simply about producing snow — it enables precise management of snow quality, resource efficiency, and the predictability of resort operations.

THE SCALE IS CLEARLY REFLECTED IN THE NUMBERS

€25 MILLION investment into the snowmaking system
50 HA total snowmaking coverage are
13 КМslopes in the first development phase
150+snow cannons
180+connection points
100%coverage of all first-phase slopes
100+ DAYS of predictable winter season operations

The implementation of the system is divided into two phases:

  • 2026 — launch of the first 17 hectares of the snowmaking system
  • 2027 — completion of the remaining infrastructure

WHY WE CHOSE DEMACLENKO

For GORO, selecting this supplier reflects a strategic decision to build the resort according to the standards of the world’s leading mountain destinations from the very beginning.

DEMACLENKO is a European manufacturer and integrator of world-class automated snowmaking systems, established in 2011 through the merger of Demac (Italy) and Lenko (Sweden). The company specializes in turnkey snowmaking solutions.

A key role is played by DEMACLENKO’s Snow Visual technology — an automated “snow operations control center.” It enables centralized management of snowmaking, real-time equipment monitoring, and more precise decisions regarding where, when, and how much snow is required.

“For us, it is essential that GORO’s mountain infrastructure is built from the outset according to global standards, with high energy efficiency, responsible resource management, and maximum process automation. Our partnership with DEMACLENKO allows us to implement solutions and approaches that have already proven their effectiveness at leading international resorts.”

— Volodymyr Harazd, CEO of GORO Development and GORO Mountain Resort

Cooperation with DEMACLENKO began back in 2018 during the development of the resort’s master plan. The project was designed individually, taking into account the local climate, terrain, water sources, and environmental requirements of the specific location. The final equipment supply contract was signed in May 2026.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR THE RESORT AND INVESTORS

GORO is entering the category of resorts where snow is no longer just a weather factor, but a managed infrastructure system.

For guests, this means more stable slope conditions and more confidence in planning winter holidays in advance.

For the resort, it means a more predictable season and reduced dependence on weather fluctuations.

For investors, it strengthens the business model, supports more stable demand, and increases the long-term capitalization potential of the assets.

The snowmaking system directly affects the predictability of the winter season and, consequently, hotel occupancy rates, accommodation demand, and the long-term value of resort real estate.

A European level of mountain infrastructure further strengthens GORO’s attractiveness as a tourism destination and creates additional foundations for growth in profitability, liquidity, and real estate capitalization within the resort.

The first phase of the snowmaking system, covering 17 hectares, is scheduled for completion in 2026. This marks another major milestone toward the resort’s first winter season launch in 2027 and the opening of the ONDE hotels in 2028.
