GORO Mountain Resort Brings Carpathian Spirit to Kyiv

25.09.2025

A new all-season mountain resort, GORO Mountain Resort, which is being built in the Lviv Carpathians, has opened its official office in the center of Kyiv — at 44 Antonovycha Street, in the CHICAGO Central House. The space reflects the atmosphere of the future hotels now under construction at the resort.

“You can truly understand the value of the resort only through personal experience. That’s why the Kyiv space was created as a full journey, where every detail is carefully considered and authentic. This helps visitors and investors fully feel the brand’s idea, our quality standards, and openness,” says Volodymyr Garazd, CEO of GORO Development and GORO Mountain Resort.

A main focus of the Kyiv office is attracting investment into the resort’s hotel business. In early October, GORO Development will begin selling units in the second hotel of the resort’s first phase — ONDE Hotel. Investors can get a personal presentation, explore different investment opportunities, and see financial forecasts for any unit using a special investment calculator. It works in real time, showing possible profit and value growth, which helps investors quickly understand how good the investment could be and what the future of the resort looks like.

Part of the team also works from the coworking area of the office, making the space open and welcoming. Here, the team holds meetings with partners and contractors, shows hotel models, and presents materials that reflect the resort’s concept.

The whole space was designed with one clear idea — mirroring the essence of the GORO resort itself. Every element, from furniture to the smallest details, is made to interact with visitors. From the first moments, guests enter an atmosphere where modern design is mixed with traditional Boyko culture, reimagined in a fresh way.

At the entrance, there’s a wooden reception desk and a handmade wicker art piece, creating a warm and natural feel. Next to it is a coat rack designed to look like old Boyko tools. Visitors are invited to leave their coats and even wear slippers — a small but meaningful gesture of care and a way to invite them into a slower rhythm.

The central design element is a large wickerwork installation, created by local artisans over more than three months. Its shape incorporates symbols representing the resort’s all-year-round nature — kayaks for summer adventures, bikes for active mountain fun, tennis rackets for a healthy lifestyle, and skis and snowboards that represent the resort’s biggest pride: 45 ski trails that can host over 25,000 skiers at once.

The installation is made from natural materials and built by hand. It combines traditional craft with modern design, and it’s a symbol of GORO’s blend of heritage and innovation.

About GORO Mountain Resort

In October 2024, OKKO Group launched the construction of GORO Mountain Resort, a large-scale recreational project. The resort spans nearly 1,200 hectares, including 360 hectares designated for mountain and ski infrastructure and over 800 hectares reserved for developing hotel, commercial, and recreational facilities. Over the next 15 years, the project envisions the construction of 25 hotels with a total of 5,150 rooms, 41 ski trails stretching 75 km with 342 hectares of snowmaking coverage, two state-of-the-art gondola lifts, 11 chairlifts, and the development of Welcome and Mountain Centres.

The first development phase of GORO, covering 127 hectares, commenced near the village of Volosyanka, located 5 km from Slavske in the Lviv region. This phase includes 10 ski trails totalling 13 km with 50 hectares of snowmaking, the longest gondola lift (2.8 km), and two modern chairlifts, each 1.5 km long.

Construction of the resort’s first hotel complex began in February 2025. The project, with a total area of 48,000 sq. m, features three designer hotels with 415 rooms, including 13,000 sq. m dedicated to commercial and entertainment infrastructure. It is one of five hotel complexes planned for GORO’s first phase. It will bring together nine hotels with over 1,100 rooms and a wide range of recreational amenities: spa areas, swimming pools, restaurants, children’s facilities, and business spaces. The investment and development company GORO Development, part of OKKO Group, oversees hotel real estate development, including architectural concept creation, construction, recreational programming, and investment attraction for the hotel business.

In the GORO Mountain Resort project, OKKO Group acts as the sole owner, primary investor, master developer, leading builder, and operator, ensuring the harmonious growth and holistic vision of the year-round recreational destination. To create an international-level resort, OKKO Group engaged world-class Austrian experts: PKF Hospitality (investment analysis and concept development), ILF Group (master planning and ski infrastructure), and Doppelmayr/Garaventa Group (design of lift and gondola systems).
